Blaney Elementary Teacher Randi Ray was named 2025 Kershaw County School District (KCSD) Teacher of the Year at a celebration tonight, while North Central High Teacher Emily Densmore was chosen as first alternate.
Dr. Harrison Goodwin, Superintendent of Kershaw County School District, was surprised last night at the Kershaw County School Board meeting with the prestigious South Carolina National School Public Relations Association (SC/NSPRA) Administrator of the Year Award. The announcement was made by Tim Cooper, Past President of SC/NSPRA and Toni Chewning, President Elect of SC/NSPRA.

Kershaw County School District librarians joined hundreds of educators from across the state for the 2025 South Carolina Association of School Librarians (SCASL) Conference, held March 19-21 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Kershaw County was represented by 14 librarians, library assistants and district leadership, reflecting the district’s strong commitment to literacy and school library advocacy.

On Thursday, February 20, KCSD schools and offices will be opening on a two-hour delay. This means school start times are two hours later than normal. School bus riders should report to their bus stops two hours later than their usual times.
